I get an SMTP or POP3 error message when I'm
sending or receiving email.
The following are a couple of SMTP and POP3 error messages you might
receive and the way to fix them

If you receive the above error then you either are not connected to
the Internet or the POP server is down. First check for the Internet connection icon
in your lower right corner. If it is not there then connect to the Internet and try
your email again. If you are still getting the same error, call us at (775) 332-5600
to see if the POP server is really down.

To prevent email SPAMMING we have implemented a procedure to
prevent non-members of Autumn Internet from using our SMTP mail server to do their
SPAMMING. This puts a restriction on Autumn Internet users connected to the Internet
through a dial-up connection other than Autumn Internet. In other words if you are
in Indianapolis for the Indy 500 and you connect to the Internet via CompuServe you will
not be able to send email to addresses outside Autumn Internet. There is a work
around but you will have to call Autumn Internet when you are connected out of town and we
can set the server to allow you to send temporarily. You will receive the above
message if you try to send email from outside of Autumm Internet. You will be able
to receive your email from any Internet connection. Receiving email uses our POP3
server not our SMTP server.
